Above Bar Church

Above Bar Church exists to glorify God by seeking to make and mature disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ, so that in everything he might have the supremacy. We are a community of Christians dedicated to loving God, following Jesus and sharing the hope we have.

  • As a city centre church we have a real heart to reach those who are living, working, studying and sleeping rough on our doorstep. We are a member of the Fellowship of Independent Evangelical Churches.

  • Our student Bible study group meets on Thursdays at 6:30pm in Bassett, starting on 1/10/26. We have a hot meal together and an interactive Bible study which aims to mature and mobilise student disciples who are hungry for Jesus and more effective for mission on campus.

Our vision is to be here for you! To build faith, freedom and friendship.

  • Anchor Community Church is part of the Pioneer network and also linked to Rhema Bible College, Tulsa, Oklahoma. We are aiming to build to reach different generations of people to show them the love of Jesus and disciple them. We want to encourage people to use their giftings to serve the church. Our services generally have a time of praise and worship, an open time to share testimony, prophetic words and Bible readings and then a 30 minute Bible based teaching followed by refreshments.

  • We would love to have some students who can breathe new life into the church. We have weekly prayer meetings on Thursdays from 7:15pm-8:30pm and coffee mornings every Friday from 10am to 12pm. We also have a course on Romans running fortnightly on Wednesdays from 7:30pm to 9pm starting on the 16th September.

We have recently launched a Young Adults Community, which meets monthly. It is a space for young adults to deepen their faith, build community, and explore together what it means to follow Jesus.   • Highfield is an intergenerational Anglican church with a range of worship styles.
